44 the new 43

Hi. I promised a review of my 44th birthday gavanza. (There has been a gavanza shortage with all the economic turmoil the country has been through of late so there wasn't any extra gavanza.) So let me set the scene, It's September 22nd I am 43 and I fall asleep only to wake up the next day and find that I am now 44. I wake up to the hustle and bustle that is my children. They bring in a special giant birthday cookie with White Sox decorations. I open some presents and then, the unexpected happens.

Before I tell you what the unexpected was, I want to tell you what the expected was so the unexpected doesn't seem more expected. The expected was composed of Amy going to work, and me starting the school day.

So, the unexpected happens, A family of migratory woodchucks break into the house and steal Amy's laptop that she uses for school. Actually, while that is unexpected, it did not happen, and not only because Amy's laptop was at her school that morning. What actually happened is Amy announced that she was not going to work that day and going to New York to try to be a panelist on the T.V. version of Balderdash. Actually, that did not happen either, remember I said the unexpected happened, and I fully expect Amy to bolt to New York if ever a professional Balderdash position opens there. What really happened is this: Amy took the day off and we had a family outing.

The outing consisted soley of things that Amy thought I would enjoy. We started by going to the Little Red School House a nature preserve in South Suburban Chicago. We hiked some nature trails there and viewed thrit nature center. Afterwards, we went to the library near where we lived in Hickory Hills. We then went to a batting cage/Arcade near there and had 3,200 pounds of fun which by rounding was tons of fun. For Lunch we wnt to our second favorite restraunt from our Hickory Hills time(the first is The Pit) Pepes. We then went home and AMy gave me another gift: some time alone. She took everyone to Charlie's football practice and I did some bicycling. After the kids went to bed we played some cards. All in all I got to spend my birthday doing many of my favorite things with my favorite people.

Thanks Amy!
