Yes, it's true I started a bunny blog!

Hi this is Alice. My owners dad said I could tell everyone at Club 852 about my blog. You should visit it sometime by clicking here. Be sure to ask me a question about animals. But not about me.

Yes it's true, I started a homeschool blog.

Here is the link :Home School Dad

I even have a poll about who you think might be the most obnoxious member of the Brady Bunch. WHat does that have to do with Home Schooling? Precious little. I will still post here at the 852 mansion. But I intend to be more vociferous on Home School Dad. Toodles

Avoid Cutbacks at 852.

I have noticed the decline in the number of posts in the past few years at this revered sight. If you don't belive me look at the sidebar right now. Yes it says in 2006 we posted 110 times. In 2007 down to 76 times and this is just the 72nd post in 2008. Do we want someone to lose their job!!!!! Let's get posting people or there may be dire repercussions!

Love,
Dave

slightly political (ok lots) but it affects me personally

To quote from an articulate and strong writer:

"But if an American citizen marries a foreign national of the same sex, then DOMA bars the INS from recognizing the marriage as a basis for granting immigration rights. As a result of DOMA, American citizens are put in the hideous predicament of having to choose either to (a) live apart from their spouse or (b) live outside their own country. The U.S. now stands virtually alone in the Western World in imposing such a cruel dilemma on its citizens (worse still, many U.S. citizens have same-sex spouses from countries where the U.S. citizen cannot live, due to lack of resources or opportunities or because that country also refuses to grant immigration rights to same-sex couples; in those cases, DOMA means that Americans are forced, with no choice, to live apart -- oceans apart -- from their spouse)."

Apparently this law might possibly be repealed in my lifetime, and I for one am in a state of shock. In a good way.

44 the new 43

Hi. I promised a review of my 44th birthday gavanza. (There has been a gavanza shortage with all the economic turmoil the country has been through of late so there wasn't any extra gavanza.) So let me set the scene, It's September 22nd I am 43 and I fall asleep only to wake up the next day and find that I am now 44. I wake up to the hustle and bustle that is my children. They bring in a special giant birthday cookie with White Sox decorations. I open some presents and then, the unexpected happens.

Before I tell you what the unexpected was, I want to tell you what the expected was so the unexpected doesn't seem more expected. The expected was composed of Amy going to work, and me starting the school day.

So, the unexpected happens, A family of migratory woodchucks break into the house and steal Amy's laptop that she uses for school. Actually, while that is unexpected, it did not happen, and not only because Amy's laptop was at her school that morning. What actually happened is Amy announced that she was not going to work that day and going to New York to try to be a panelist on the T.V. version of Balderdash. Actually, that did not happen either, remember I said the unexpected happened, and I fully expect Amy to bolt to New York if ever a professional Balderdash position opens there. What really happened is this: Amy took the day off and we had a family outing.

The outing consisted soley of things that Amy thought I would enjoy. We started by going to the Little Red School House a nature preserve in South Suburban Chicago. We hiked some nature trails there and viewed thrit nature center. Afterwards, we went to the library near where we lived in Hickory Hills. We then went to a batting cage/Arcade near there and had 3,200 pounds of fun which by rounding was tons of fun. For Lunch we wnt to our second favorite restraunt from our Hickory Hills time(the first is The Pit) Pepes. We then went home and AMy gave me another gift: some time alone. She took everyone to Charlie's football practice and I did some bicycling. After the kids went to bed we played some cards. All in all I got to spend my birthday doing many of my favorite things with my favorite people.

Thanks Amy!

Ooops!!

I didn't realize that the last two posts that I did were under Dave's name. How very odd, I know. The management reserves the right to blah blah blah, nevermind.

all of that hidden potential on yr birthday

If you were born on this day, you too might be able to grow a blue mustache (as opposed to blue beard), sprout Martian attenae to communicate with the your fellow beings who are currently investigating Las Vegas and Arizona, and wear your heart on your sleeve....arm. Yeah, your arm sleeve. And cut your cheek while trying to lick the frosting from your cake.

Happy Birthday Amy!

The Old Switcheroo.

Hey there cats, kittens, other assorted felines, and non-felines. I have a general announcement.
Amy and I are switching roles. I am now the neat orderly one who writes down the first thing that comes to my head in Balderdash, and Amy is well, rather scary.

Actually Amy joins the workforce next month and I become the Education Czar of 1151 Chippewa. Say it with me: transition. We are all excited about the change and I will learn how to be a more frequent user of this thing called a computer.
