say you're an onion

OK you're an onion minding your own business on somebody's window ledge. Say you're bored and want some excitement. You want to become part of something larger than yourself. Say you want to join a soup. What might be the necessary steps to participate in joining other like-minded items to become a soup...maybe even a french onion soup.

Anyone?

Well, since it's soup, I'd say peel yourself.

amy-

can you give me your tried and true french onion soup recipe?

I can try. Get it, "try" since it's "tried and true." Ok, back to the recipe. Chop 2-3 large sweet onions. Saute in butter until brownish and mushy. Add a little flour to soap up grease. Add 5 cups of water, 1 cup champaigne (sp?) and 6 beef bouillon (sp?) cubes. Bring to boil, then turn down and simmer on low low low for about 20-30 minutes, stiring occasinonally, until onions rise to top. Toast french bread, and place in bowl, top with soup, and grated swiss cheese, put under broiler for 8-10 minutes until cheese is melty brown and bubbly. Watch out, it's HOT!

P.S. I thought this post was a metaphor.

I got it. Maybe it's because Sheila and I have the same laugh it means we're on the same wavelength...or something.

I refuse to comment on Katie stealing my laff.
